Tortoise

If we look at the tortoise meaning, it can be defined as a reptile which has a hard shell on its body to protect itself from its predators and other threats. Tortoises belong to the Testudinidae family and have a hard shell as compared to the members of its suborder. Tortoises also have the ability to move their neck and head directly back into the shell to protect themselves. Tortoises can vary in size. Some species of tortoise, like the Galapagos Giant Tortoise, can grow more than 1.2 meters in length. At the same time, some species, like Speckled Cape Tortoise, have only 6.8 centimeters long shells. Like Aldabra Giant Tortoise, various tortoises also evolve a large body size of more than 100 kg. Tortoises are one of the longest-living animals present on the land. Galapagos tortoises are noted to live for more than 150 years.
